Ghouls' Day Out celebrates My Chemical Romance at Los Angeles' Immanuel Presbyterian on May 20

SoCal event coordinator SpooksieBoo Events is celebrating one of emo’s most beloved bands at one of the most iconic spots in emo history.

On May 20, Ghouls' Day Out will pay homage to My Chemical Romance at Los Angeles’ Immanuel Presbyterian from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For MCR fans, this church is where the music video for “Helena” was filmed. At the event, fans can experience the music video in person with a special replica of the casket, drapes, and decorations.

One major highlight is the reunion of Jaime Andrews and Jamisin Matthews, who are best known as the couple on the Life on the Murder Scene cover. Selfies and autographs from the duo will be available at an additional cost.

You can’t have a big My Chemical Romance-themed event without live music, and Ghouls’ Day Out will deliver with sets from two tribute bands. From noon to 1:30 p.m., Green Day tribute band Green Today will deliver a set full of hits from the beloved punk band. At 2 p.m., cover band Too Bad So Sad (T.B.S.S.) will deliver a set full of emo and pop punk hits. My Chemical Romance tribute band Sweet Revenge will perform at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Aside from live music, fans can shop at the ghoul market and pick up some quick food at handpicked food vendors.

Tickets for the event can be purchased here. Children ages 12 and under can come for free with an adult. A portion of the ticket sales will go towards the Immanuel Presbyterian, which is located on 3300 Wilshire Boulevard.
