Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2 trailer is out

The first official trailer for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is out.

The trailer, which can be seen here, was showcased during the Frieren: Beyond the Journey panel at the Peacock Theater yesterday during Anime Expo. Crunchyroll will stream the second season worldwide (excluding Asia but including India and the Indian Subcontinent) when it debuts in January 2026. A premiere date will be revealed soon.

Alongside the trailer release, it was also confirmed that Tomoya Kitagawa will be the director for season two. Kitagawa directed a handful of episodes in the first season as well as worked on storyboards. Season one director Keiichiro Saito will act as the supervising director. Other staff members confirmed for season two include music composer Evan Call, assistant director Daiki Harashina (takt op. Destiny); series writer Tomohiro Suzuki (One-Punch Man), character designers Takasemaru (Violet Evergarden), Keisuke Kojima (100 Meters), and Yuri Fujinaka (key animation on SPY x FAMILY CODE: White), and concept artist Seiko Yoshioka (background art on Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo).

Season one of Frieren: Beyond Journey's End can be streamed on Crunchyroll right now here. The first season won for Best Drama, Best Director (Keiichiro Saito), Best Background Art, and Best Supporting Character at this year’s Crunchyroll Anime Awards. A synopsis for the first season reads:

After the party of heroes defeated the Demon King, they restored peace to the land and returned to lives of solitude. Generations pass, and the elven mage Frieren comes face to face with humanity’s mortality. She takes on a new apprentice and promises to fulfill old friends’ dying wishes. Can an elven mind make peace with the nature of life and death? Frieren embarks on her quest to find out.
