Fountains of Wayne release live version of “Hackensack” featuring Sharon Van Etten

Today, Fountains of Wayne have released their live version of “Hackensack” featuring singer Sharon Van Etten.

This performance was taken from the Jersey 4 Jersey benefit special, which raised money for the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund. This was the band’s first time performing together in seven years. “Brian, Jody and I are honored to be part of the Jersey 4 Jersey benefit, and grateful that Sharon was able to perform with us,” vocalist Chris Collingwood said in a statement. “Adam would have been proud that Fountains were helping to raise money for fellow New Jerseyans.” Fans can purchase the recording on Bandcamp for the next month. All proceeds will go towards the NJPRF.

Fountains of Wayne co-founder Adam Schlesinger passed away from coronavirus complications last month.

Since 2009, MP3s and NPCs owner Terrance Pryor has written about music, conventions, cosplay, and video games for publications such as AXS, Examiner, Fake Walls, and Ranker. Based out of Los Angeles, the former rock concert promoter/radio host can be seen talking about rock music on AXS TV’s Music’s Greatest Mysteries and discussing music and whatever else on their Black Man Talks Rock channel on YouTube.
