Fireworks shows, cloud saves heading to Animal Crossing: New Horizons

A slew of updates for Animal Crossing: New Horizons have been revealed, including one highly requested one.

Starting in August, fireworks shows will arrive on the island every Sunday at 7 p.m. During these shows, you can spend bells to gain raffle tickets for special prizes. Users will also be able to visit their friends’ islands in their dreams thanks to Luna. In these dreams, you can simply check out how your friends are handling their island.

The biggest update comes from cloud saves. Since the game’s launch, fans have requested this to be included. This cloud save function is separate from Nintendo’s primary Save Data Cloud seen in multiple games. For now, this will only work for those with missing or broken systems. A different function allowing players to transfer their data to another system will be released later this year.

These updates will go live on July 30. You can check out the announcement video below. The next update will be unveiled this fall.

Since 2009, MP3s and NPCs owner Terrance Pryor has written about music, conventions, cosplay, and video games for publications such as AXS, Examiner, Fake Walls, and Ranker. Based out of Los Angeles, the former rock concert promoter/radio host can be seen talking about rock music on AXS TV’s Music’s Greatest Mysteries and discussing music and whatever else on their Black Man Talks Rock channel on YouTube.
