Fallen Tear: The Ascension gets early 2026 release on PC
Metroidvania/JRPG game Fallen Tear: The Ascension will launch early next year.
Revealed today, the game will launch in Q1 2026 on PC (via Steam). The game is also slated to arrive on the PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch at a later date. A new teaser trailer can be seen here.
CMD Studios founder Stephen Manalastas said this about the new title:
“Fallen Tear: The Ascension is our way of giving back to the epic gaming adventures we grew up with. Just like how we got lost in the fantastic tales of Suikoden or Shadow of the Colossus, we aim to offer a glimpse of a world we hope others will get happily absorbed into, too.”
A synopsis for Fallen Tear: The Ascension reads:
Embark on this journey with Hira, a mysterious young boy who seeks the truth about his forgotten past. Along the way, bond with a multitude of fully-voiced characters to unlock new skills and abilities that will aid you in your battle through environments that constantly change and react to your choices - all in classic, hand-drawn animation.
Fallen Tear: The Ascension is a 2D Metroidvania set in a seemingly boundless world where you will fight dangerous beasts, defy corrupt gods, and face a multitude of challenges all in an attempt to bring balance back to your world.
This game is inspired by Elden Ring’s level design, Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s open world design, Suikoden and Valkyrie Profile’s JRPG goodness, and Shadow of the Colossus’ secrets building.
Fallen Tear: The Ascension can be wishlisted on Steam right now here.
