Experimental pop outfit Midwife unveil new single “S.W.I.M.”

Denver multi-instrumentalist Madeline Johnston, who is best known as Midwife, has unveiled another track from their forthcoming album Forever today. As the album’s closing track, “S.W.I.M.” haunts the listener with Johnson’s somber lyrics (“You know I can't swim forever/I don't want to fight the tide”).

Pre-orders for Forever can be made here. The album was inspired by the 2018 death of Johnston’s close friend Colin Ward. “I wanted to write him a letter. I wanted to make something for him in his memory,” Johnston said. Forever will be released on April 10 via The Flenser.

Midwife will hit the road starting next month in support of the release. Most dates will feature Devin Flower. You can see their forthcoming tour schedule below.
