Depeche Mode announce 2023 world tour and new studio album 'Memento Mori'
Depeche Mode will spend 2023 touring and releasing new music.
Announced today, the act will release their 15th studio album Memento Mori next spring via Columbia Records. This follows their 2017 studio album Spirit. This will be their first studio album without founding member Andy Fletcher, who passed away in May. Martin Gore said this about working on the album without Fletcher:
"We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch's passing, we decided to continue as we're sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning."
Depeche Mode will promote the album with a massive world tour, which will kick off on March 23 at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. The newly announced tour dates can be seen below. Tickets will go on sale to the general public this Friday (October 7) at 9 a.m. local time for the North American shows and 10 a.m. local time for the European/U.K. gigs. Opening acts will be announced soon.
