Crunchyroll to hold 2023 Anime Awards in Japan
Crunchyroll will be heading overseas for their 2023 installment of the Anime Awards.
Announced today, the ceremony will be held at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo, Japan on Saturday, March 4. As expected, the event will be streamed on Crunchyroll’s social media accounts.
Crunchyroll President Rahul Purini said this about the move:
“There is no better place to celebrate the Anime Awards than the birthplace of anime itself. Anime is a rich storytelling medium, capturing the hearts and minds of fans all over the world. We can’t wait to showcase how much love the global anime fanbase has for the studios, creators, and our trusted partners behind anime.”
Fan voting will begin early next year.
Debuting in 2017, the Crunchyroll Anime Awards celebrates every aspect of anime. This year found Jujutsu Kaisen walking away with six wins, including Best Character Design and Best Fight Scene. Overall, My Hero Academia earned the most accolades at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards with 27 nominations and 15 wins.
