Composer Yoko Shimomura (Final Fantasy XV, Kingdom Hearts) announced as Anime NYC's Guest of Honor
Anime NYC has announced a brand new Guest of Honor yesterday.
Composer Yoko Shimomura will make a special appearance at A New World: intimate music from Final Fantasy, which will take place on Friday, November 18 at Anime NYC’s Special Events Hall. Shimomura will also take part in the sold-out VIP autograph session. Tickets for the concert can be purchased here.
Shimomura got their start composing music for Capcom titles such as Final Fight and Street Fighter II before joining Square Enix. During their time with Square Enix, they worked on titles such as Super Mario RPG, Parasite Eve, and Kingdom Hearts. Recently, Shimomura worked on the titles Streets of Rage 4 and Kingdom Hearts III. In the future, fans can hear their music in the video game Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope and the anime series Legend of Mana: The Teardrop Crystal.
Shimomura will join fellow Guests of Honor Shuko Murase (animator, Samurai Champloo) and Mel Kishida (illustrator, Arland Atelier). An updated guest list can be found here.
