Braid announce 'Frame & Canvas' 25th anniversary tour
Beloved emo band Braid are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their 1998 studio album Frame & Canvas with a tour across the United States and a re-release of the album.
Announced today, the tour will kick off on July 13 inside Lancaster’s Tellus 360, and it’ll conclude at Austin’s Come and Take It Live on July 29. Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow (February 24) at 10 a.m. local time.
A re-release of the album, which was remixed by J. Robbins and remastered by Dan Coutant, will be released on April 7 via Polyvinyl. Polyvinyl co-founder Matt Lunsford said this about releasing the album when the label was just getting started:
“When Braid asked Polyvinyl to release Frame & Canvas, it was a true ‘jump in the pool and swim’ moment for us. We worked tirelessly to release and distribute the album on a worldwide scale, while Braid worked tirelessly touring behind it. That relationship defined Polyvinyl’s 50/50 ethos not only as a financial model but as a fundamental work ethic between our label and our artists, which is something we are still very proud to practice 25 years later. I will forever be grateful that Bob, Todd, Chris and Damon took a chance on partnering with my and Darcie’s [Lunsford] barely two-year-old record label to release the album. Polyvinyl likely would not have existed without Braid.”
A remastered version of “Killing A Camera” comes with a music video featuring never-before-seen live and BTS footage, which can be seen below. Pre-orders for the re-release can be found here.
