Bob Mould will bring a slew of Solo Electric shows across the U.S. this fall.
Revealed today, the trek will kick off on September 9 at Cincinnati’s Memorial Hall, and it’ll conclude on October 11 at St. Paul’s Turf Club. J. Robbins (solo), The Baseball Project and Loose Cattle, and David Barbe will join the tour on select dates.
Mould said this about the fall run:
“We the band spent the past six weeks performing sets focused on the music we recorded together since 2012. Now, with the announcement of new Solo Electric shows, I’m looking forward to adding deeper cuts from my career songbook. The volume will be a touch quieter than the band shows, but the intensity will remain the same. Looking forward!”
This Saturday (May 17), Mould will deliver the keynote address for the 2025 commencement ceremony at his alma mater Macalester College and gain an honorary degree. The ceremony can be livestreamed here starting at 11:30 a.m. EST/8:30 a.m. PST. Mould said this about the forthcoming ceremony:
“In 1978, Macalester College accepted and welcomed this 17-year old kid from Malone, NY to St. Paul, Minnesota. Without that opportunity, my life would be completely different. I never imagined I would be asked back to receive an honorary degree, nor did I foresee delivering the commencement speech to the Macalester College graduating class of 2025. I’ll do my best this Saturday.”
Mould will be touring in support of their new studio album Here We Go Crazy. The artist recently performed the song "When Your Heart Is Broken" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon; that performance can be seen here.
