Fans finally know when Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will start airing.

Announced today, the show will begin airing on October 10 via TV Tokyo. The show will also be simulcasted on a streaming service to be announced. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, which is based on the manga series’ final story arc, will run for four seasons. A new trailer can be seen below.

The opening theme for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will be “Scar” by Tatsuya Kitani, who recently provided music for Bleach’s 20th anniversary exhibition. The anime’s closing theme will be “Saihatte (The Furtherest End)” by SennaRin, who recently provided music for The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These Gekitotsu.

A synopsis for the first episode of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War reads:

It is observed that the void is disappearing one after another in this world, and the Yun Soul World and Technology Development Bureau is in an uproar. Meanwhile, in the town of Soraza, the newly appointed Shinigami Ryūnosuke Yukiki and Shino Tsukume encounter the void shortly after arriving. Aiding the two men, who had nothing to do about the sudden attack, was Kazugo Kurosaki, the acting god of death, and his friends. Two days later, a masked man appears in front of Ichigo who interacts with Ryunosuke, who has regained consciousness. On the other hand, there is also an abnormality happening in the Yun Soul Realm.

On October 8, New York Comic Con will have a special early screening of episode one at the Empire Stage. Alongside the screening, there will be a cosplay contest.
