Awesome Console Showcase launches next Tuesday

The Awesome Console Showcase is arriving next week.

The forthcoming gaming showcase will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday October 28 following the ID@Xbox Showcase starting at 10 a.m. the same day. A statement from the showcase reads:

When we first organized The Game Awards for Games Who Can’t Afford the Game Awards (TGAGWCAGA) back in December 2024, it was meant as a tongue-in-cheek indie celebration, a way to spotlight weird, wonderful games that didn’t participate in The Game Awards. We scheduled it one day after The Game Awards for the joke.

Apparently, karma didn’t find it as funny as we did.

Because when we came back in March 2025 with the first SUGOI Showcase, Nintendo decided to drop a Direct on the very same day. We laughed, powered through, and had a great show.

So when we announced our third event, the Awesome Console Showcase, a brand-new show dedicated to indie titles coming to console platforms, we thought, surely this time we’d get the day to ourselves.

And then… Xbox announced their first-ever ID@Xbox Showcase with IGN, happening on October 28. Yes, the exact same day as ours.

At this point, we’ve stopped calling it bad luck and started calling it a cure.

On the bright side, the Xbox event starts an hour earlier, which means gamers will be able to watch both. Maybe the universe is just making sure the day is a full celebration of indie games.

Either way, we’ll take it.

So mark your calendar:

ID@Xbox Showcase - October 28, 10AM PT

Awesome Console Showcase - October 28, 11AM PT

Because if there’s one thing the universe agrees on, it’s that October 28 belongs to indie games.

The Awesome Console Showcase will arrive on SUGOI Games’ YouTube channel. Some of the games slated to appear on the showcase include Reus 2, Deck of Haunts, ANTONBLAST, The Cabin Factory, and Camper Van: Make it Home.

It’s gonna be an indie day! 🎮 This October 28th, one hour after the IGN x ID@Xbox Showcase, catch The Awesome Console, the first pure indie showcase for games coming to consoles. The indie scene’s on fire, and we’d love your support! #gaming #indies #gameconsole
