April O'Neil announced for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ ally April O'Neil hasn’t seen their proper time in video games over the years. Fortunately, that’s all going to change with two major announcements.
At Wednesday’s Gamescom Opening Night Live, a new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge shows the reporter as a playable character. The game, which is being developed by Dotemu, is slated to arrive next year on the Nintendo Switch and PC.
Today, game publisher GameMill Entertainment revealed April O’Neil, along with CatDog, would be playable in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, which is slated to arrive this fall on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. O’Neil joins TMNT characters Leonardo and Michelangelo in the crossover fighting game.
While O’Neil was seen as a damsel in distress in older TMNT games, the character was playable in the Sega Genesis version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters, 2005’s TMNT: Mutant Melee, and 2009’s TMNT: Smash-Up.
