Annie Blackman releases new single "Souvenir"
New Jersey singer-songwriter Annie Blackman has unveiled their new song "Souvenir" today.
The music video for the track, which can be seen below, was directed by Annie's brother William and Katrina Peterson. Blackman said this about working on the new tune:
"I wrote “Souvenir” several years ago after the first time I felt unlike myself after a sexual encounter, Throughout, I’m grappling with a disconnect between body and brain. In this song, a night comes and goes, and I’m working with limited proof that it ever even happened. A souvenir can be a feeling, physical or emotional, and I’ve always found them essential in processing an experience. Part of what I love about writing songs is that they become souvenirs eventually, too."
"Souvenir," which is available on all digital services right now, is the second part of Blackman’s single series with Father/Daughter Records. Last month, they released the track “Why We Met.”
