Weezer team up with skateboating game Wave Break for "Tell Me What You Want"
Beloved alternative rockers Weezer have joined forces with Wave Break for their new single “Tell Me What You Want.”
The single, which is out today on all digital services, is featured in the skateboating video game. If that’s not enough to get fans excited, a “Weezy Mode” level based on the new song is available in Wave Break. Funktronic Labs president Eddie Lee said this about working with Weezer:
“I remember bumpin’ Weezer’s Pinkerton cassette on my walkman as a dorky teenage kid, but never in a million years did I imagine I’d work with them in the future. It truly is an indie developer’s dream.”
For content creators, the new Weezer song will be DMCA-free, meaning they can stream the tune without having to worry about being demonetized or blocked. The track will be added to Twitch’s audio library Twitch Soundtrack. A special vinyl release of the new single is available for pre-order here. The vinyl will be released later this year. Wave Break is available on Steam and the Nintendo Switch right now.
Weezer spent 2021 releasing two studio albums: the baroque-pop offering OK Human and the hard rock release Van Weezer. This summer, they’ll be on tour with Green Day and Fall Out Boy. Tour dates and tickets can be found here.
