The WAEVE release new single "Broken Boys"
The WAEVE (Blur’s Graham Coxon and The Pipettes’ Rose Elinor Dougall) have unveiled their new single “Broken Boys” today.
The single, which can be heard here, stems from the act’s sophomore studio album City Lights. The 10-track album is slated for a September 20 release via Transgressive Records. Coxon said this about the new album:
“This album is definitely more neurotic and more grumpy - and that comes from me! I’ve always liked to be pretty straightforward about feelings, whether they’re ugly or beautiful, and I’ve always approached sound in the same way. I don’t always think that sound needs to be comfortable to listen to. That dynamic of putting discomfort next to something that is really lovely is something that I’ve always been interested in.”
Pre-orders for City Lights can be made here. This follows the band’s 2023 self-titled debut album.
The WAEVE will celebrate the album’s release with a string of sold-out shows at Rough Trades across the U.K. Forthcoming tour dates can be seen below.
