The good and bad of WrestleMania 41

WrestleMania 41 is in the books, and the two-night PLE gave fans both in-person and at home some exciting moments and surprise appearances. We look at what grand things stood out from the event and what had folks shaking their heads. WrestleMania 42 will take place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on Saturday, April 11, and Sunday, April 12, 2026.

The good

Paul Heyman turning on both CM Punk and Roman Reigns

The night one main event gave us a wild conclusion with Paul Heyman turning on both his longtime friend CM Punk and his Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. With Paul Heyman by his side, Seth Rollins could find himself continuing feuding with CM Punk into Backlash. Roman will more than likely be inserted in a championship match against John Cena.

Jacob Fatu and Dominik Mysterio winning their first singles title

Jacob Fatu and Dominik Mysterio both had stellar matches concluding with them walking away with their first singles titles on the main roster. For Mysterio, this was their first time holding any sort of WWE gold on the main roster in four years. For Fatu, winning their first singles title at their WrestleMania debut is a major highlight in their rookie year.

Joe Hendry's WrestleMania moment

While no one said his name, Joe Hendry appeared in front of 60,000 people to deliver the surprise of night two. Many fans claimed this match was a waste, but it was the complete opposite. Hendry got to represent TNA in front of the biggest crowd of his career and managed to do so against a future Hall of Famer. Hendry also became the victim of one of the best RKOs ever.

The bad

Rey Fenix losing hours after the AAA acquisition announcement

This is easily one of the strangest booking decisions in recent memory as it's connected with a major acquisition. Before WrestleMania started, Triple H announced the WWE acquired the iconic Mexican wrestling promotion AAA. While AAA and WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio was out with an injury, AAA alumni Rey Fenix took their place to make their WrestleMania debut against El Grande Americano. Americano's entrance and his win over Fenix didn't send a great message alongside the AAA announcement.

New Day vs War Raiders

The actual match itself was fine with The New Day winning the tag titles for a record-setting 12 times. The main issue with the match involved the fans, who were completely silent during the entire ordeal. While The New Day were once getting booed out of the building, the team didn't get much of a reaction as they made their way to the ring. The mishandling of the team following their turn has been a hot topic online for months. With this win, we can hopefully expect The New Day to restart their villainous reign.

Bayley getting attacked before Mania

Running an injury angle hours before Mania is never a good idea. While it was planned all along, Bayley not having a match at Mania didn't sit right with a lot of folks. We can expect Roxanne Perez to be the attacker to resume her feud with Bayley.
