Los Angeles always has a plethora of events going down at every corner. Whether it’s a convention or some improv, there’s always something to do if you’re looking to leave the house. We look at some of the best events going down in Los Angeles this week (March 30 through April 5).

Wednesday, April 1

Those Who Can't Act, Improvise: A Night of Scenes with the Bad Baddies @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)

Doors: 9:45 p.m. (tickets)

Trained actors will collide with improvisers for one hilarious time at UCB Theatre. The actors will perform scripted scenes while The Bad Baddies (PJ McCormick, Justin Patterson, Paul Heredia, and Jozef Fahey) will improvise the scene on the fly. Actors slated to perform alongside the improvisers include Anthony Bless and Bailey Gavulic.

Friday, April 3

Open Melody Festival @ 2220 Arts + Archives (2220 Beverly Blvd.)

Doors: 6 p.m. (tickets)

Open Melody Festival will take over 2220 Arts + Archives this weekend for three days of live music from acts around the world. Music acts confirmed for the event include Agriculture, Supercollider, Deerhoof, and Human Error Club. Three-day and single-day tickets are on sale for this event.

Blind Date Live @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)

Doors: 9:45 p.m. (tickets)

Co-hosted by Monika Smith and Eli Newell, Blind Date Live will give one lucky person in the audience a shot at romance with a trio of blind dates live on the UCB stage. Livestream tickets are also available for this event.

Saturday, April 4

Lamb of God @ YouTube Theater (1011 Stadium Dr.)

Doors: 6 p.m. (tickets)

Lamb of God will headline YouTube Theater on Saturday in support of their new studio album Into Oblivion. The new album, which was produced by Josh Wilbur, topped the Hard Rock Albums chart and peaked at number three on both the Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts. Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg will be the opening acts.

Business Casual's Tenth Anniversary Improv Show @ The Elysian (1944 Riverside Dr.)

Business Casual will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a special improv show at The Elysian. Since debuting a decade ago, the sketch comedy act has appeared at JFL, Netflix is a Joke Festival and the Moontower Comedy Festival. Attendees will also be greeted to an improv set from Chris Tcholakian, Madison Dahm, Anna Garcia, Lawrence Marshallian, Claudio Saavedra, Hannah Pilkes, and Kylie Brakeman.

Since 2009, MP3s and NPCs owner Terrance Pryor has written about music, conventions, cosplay, and video games for publications such as AXS, Examiner, Fake Walls, and Ranker. Based out of Los Angeles, the former rock concert promoter/radio host can be seen talking about rock music on AXS TV’s Music’s Greatest Mysteries and discussing music and whatever else on their Black Man Talks Rock channel on YouTube.
