Los Angeles always has a plethora of events going down at every corner. Whether it’s a convention or some local stand-up comedy, there’s always something to do if you’re looking to leave the house. We look at some of the best events going down in Los Angeles this week (March 16 through March 22).
Friday, March 20
BrickCentric @ Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel (2500 N Hollywood Way)

LEGO fan convention BrickCentric will bring a slew of SoCal LEGO fans to the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel. The three-day event will feature a plethora of activities for young and old fans of the iconic toy.
Saturday, March 21
Angel Du$t @ 1720 (1720 E. 16th St)
Doors: 6 p.m. (tickets)
Very few tickets are left to see Angel Du$t headline 1720 on Saturday. The band will be promoting their new studio album COLD 2 THE TOUCH, which is out on Run For Cover Records. Midrift, Béton Armé, and Leave No Doubt will be the opening acts for the show.
The Shortlist Show @ The Pack Theater (1615 North Vermont Ave.)
Doors: 6:50 p.m. (tickets)
The Short List Show will bring together a slew of improvisers to play a game where the audience decides who wins! The winner for the night will be considered the Short King for the event. Before the winner is decided, the improvisers will join forces for a monoscene based on what went down during the competition. Participating improvisers will be revealed soon.
RIP DEI 2: Back From The Dead @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)

The Astronomy Club will bring together a group of improvisers to mourn the end of D.E.I. A portion of proceeds from the show will go towards the NAACP. Joining the Astronomy Club (Jonathan Braylock, Monique Moses, Keisha Zollar, James III) this night are special guests Nnamdi Ngwe, Shakira Paye, and Corin Wells. Sunday, March 22
Improvised Best Picture @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)

A huge cast will have a special improvised performance of Best Picture winner One Battle After Another. The cast for Sunday's show includes Gregory Wallace, Dickie Copeland, Jessica Jardine, Joe Fahey, Payam Banifaz, Koschka Bahr, Taryn Leggett, Pallavi Gunalan, Zach Olsen, Sean Williams, Artoun Nazareth, Jake Regal, Jahred King, Yaki Margulies, Nolan Purvis, Ahsohn Williams, Quinn Boyes, Justin Patterson, Stephen Sanow, and Shakira Paye. Livestream tickets are also available.
Since 2009, MP3s and NPCs owner Terrance Pryor has written about music, conventions, cosplay, and video games for publications such as AXS, Examiner, Fake Walls, and Ranker. Based out of Los Angeles, the former rock concert promoter/radio host can be seen talking about rock music on AXS TV’s Music’s Greatest Mysteries and discussing music and whatever else on their Black Man Talks Rock channel on YouTube.
