Los Angeles always has a plethora of events going down at every corner. Whether it’s a convention or some local stand-up comedy, there’s always something to do if you’re looking to leave the house. We look at some of the best events going down in Los Angeles this week (February 9 through February 15).

Wednesday, February 11

The Drop: An Open Clown Rehearsal @ UCB Theatre (Annex) (1925 N Bronson Ave.)

Doors: 11:50 a.m. (free)

Come see how Clown Boss Chad Damiani makes a clown show at The Annex at UCB. The Drop: An Open Clown Rehearsal will feature some of the brightest names in the scene diving into the clown world in real time. At 2 p.m., audience members can participate in a Q&A session to discuss the events that transpired on stage. The two-hour show is free to the public.

Thursday, February 12

How To Make Comics @ Scribble (5541 York Blvd.)

Doors: 6 p.m. (tickets)

Those wanting to learn how to make comics can head to Scribble for a workshop from Nathan Gelgud. The cartoonist's work has been seen in The New York Times, The Paris Review, and The New Yorker). In 2018, the artist delivered their debut graphic novel A House In The Jungle via Koyama Press.

Friday, February 13

The Ultimate Improv Show @ Dynasty Typewriter (2511 Wilshire Blvd.)

Doors: 6:30 p.m. (tickets)

Spend Friday the 13th at Dynasty Typewriter for their popular Ultimate Improv Show. The improvisers slated for Friday's show include Dan Black, Bobby Moynihan, Edi Patterson, Carl Tart, and Lauren Lapkus. Two-time Survivor winner Parvati Shallow will be the guest monologist. Livestream tickets will also be available.

Sunday, February 15

The Rock 'N' Roll Flea Market @ Regent Theater (448 S. Main St.)

If you're looking for some rockin' merch, head to the Regent Theater for the Rock 'N' Roll Flea Market. While browsing through a selection of vinyl records and merch, you can also sip on some fantastic drinks and get some delicious food.

Hot Gothic 8 @ The Viper Room (8852 W Sunset Blvd.)

Doors: 9 p.m. (tickets) 21+

Hot Gothic 8 will take over The Viper Room for a night of dark music. The live music lineup for the event features Meldamor, Corbeau Hangs, Blood Rave, Alex Okami, and Night Channels. DJ DRK will be spinning tunes throughout the night.

Based out of Los Angeles, the former rock concert promoter/radio host can be seen talking about rock music on AXS TV’s Music’s Greatest Mysteries and discussing music and whatever else on their Black Man Talks Rock channel on YouTube.
