Los Angeles always has a plethora of events going down at every corner. Whether it’s a convention or some improv, there’s always something to do if you’re looking to leave the house. We look at some of the best events going down in Los Angeles this week (August 18 through August 23).

Tuesday, August 18

Redacted presents Future Fusion @ Moroccan Lounge (901 1st St.)

Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets)

Redacted Collective will bring Future Fusion to Moroccan Lounge for a night celebrating video game-inspired music. Sennoh, Joey Naz, and Lizzy's Personal Army will perform live on stage. Prism Power founder Langley will provide DJ sets throughout the event.

Thursday, August 20

Mt. Joy @ Greek Theatre (2700 N. Vermont Ave.)

Doors: 6:30 (tickets)

Mt. Joy will bring their 10-year anniversary tour to Greek Theatre for two nights (night two is on Friday). Mt. Joy’s latest studio album is Hope We Have Fun, which features the singles "She Wants to Go Dancing,” "Coyote,” and “Lucy.”

Friday, August 21

Friday Block Party @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)

Doors: 6:50 p.m. (tickets)

Hosted by Sean Williams & Itanza Saraz, Friday Block Party will feature a slew of black and POC improvisers on one stage. The cast for Friday features Jonathan Braylock, Ashley Parchment, Shakira Paye, Adrian Snow, Jasmine Lewis, Evan Cleaver, Da’rrel Stacy Hobbs, Blake Edwards, Sebastien Siclait, Otto Graham, April Rock, Aughvieé Harris, Paige Elson, Patrick Rowland, Jon Durnell, Chris De La Cruz, Marshall Givens, David Anthony Hinton, Dorshae Middleton, Marcus Folmar, Danya Granado, Dorcas Tejeda, Mattia Day, Ashlei Theard, Angelique Henderson, Stephanie Jackson, and Simone Mariposa.

Saturday, August 22

It's A Match! A Speed Dating Show For Characters @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)

It's A Match will bring together a slew of improvisers playing characters going out on a speed date. Will they be able to find love? The cast for Saturday's show features Paul Heredia, Sean Williams, Kyleen Likas, Kaba Hues, Devan Schoelen, Sara Maraffino, Ian Mellencamp, Eric Berey, and Meghan Manning.

Wet Wet Friendo Summer 2: Even Wetter @ The Pack Theater (1615 North Vermont Ave.)

Doors: 7:50 p.m. (tickets)

Sketch comedy group Friendo will bring back their Wet Wet Friendo Summer experience to The Pack Theater. Every sketch will see the cast members getting soaked, and this year, the entire theater will be considered a splash zone. Attendees can get in on the action by purchasing the Friendo Dampening Device combo, which gives you the power to soak cast members on stage.
