Los Angeles always has a plethora of events going down at every corner. Whether it’s a convention or some improv, there’s always something to do if you’re looking to leave the house. We look at some of the best events going down in Los Angeles this week (April 20 through April 26).
Friday April 24
Face To Face @ The Novo (800 W Olympic Blvd.)
Doors: 7 p.m. (tickets)
SoCal punk group Face To Face will kick off their 35th anniversary celebration with a special headlining show at The Novo. Unwritten Law, Home Grown, and Ways Away will also perform. Face To Face's last studio album was 2021's No Way Out But Through.
Saturday, April 25
The Hottest Improv Show in Town @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)

The Hottest Improv Show in Town will feature a team of improvisers trying to do a scene after eating some of the hottest wings around. The cast for Saturday's show features Cassie Grilley, Black Edwards, Lucy Porter, Jasmine Wattar, Talia Lefkowitz, and Mark Vigeant. Anjali Bhimani (Overwatch, DesiQuest) will be the special guest monologist.
Sunday, April 26
Hatsune Miku (Miku Expo) @ Peacock Theater (777 Chick Hearn Court)

Miku Expo will return to Los Angeles with two shows at Peacock Theater. While Saturday night's show is sold out, some tickets remain for Miku's performance on Sunday. This year's Miku Expo tour has featured a slew of sold-out stops in cities such as Chicago, Washington D.C., and Boston.
WGSU Benefit Show @ UCB Theatre (5919 Franklin Ave.)
Doors: 6:50 p.m. (tickets)
A slew of improvisers will hold a benefit show for the Writers Guild Staff Union at UCB Theatre. For the past two months, the WGSU has been on strike. The cast for this show includes Vic Michaelis, Kimia Behpoornia, Geoff Ross, Oscar Montoya, Katie Marovich, and Nick Mandernach. Caitlin Reilly will be the guest monologist. Livestream tickets are also available.
Earnest C. Macabre & Goria Dreadly's Live (dead) Night of Fiends, Frights & Films @ Dynasty Typewriter (2511 Wilshire Blvd.)

Earnest C. Macabre & Goria Dreadly's Live (dead) Night of Fiends, Frights & Films will see David Dastmalchian and Leah Kilpatrick discussing their forthcoming comic series The Accessories and Kingdom of Earth. The show will also feature discussions with special guests Dr. Z, John Goblikon, and Steve Agee. Attendees will also be allowed to take part in a costume contest.
Speakeasy and Whoops @ The Pack Theater (1615 North Vermont Ave.)

Pack Theater sketch comedy teams Speakeasy and Whoops will join forces for a night of hilarity. The cast for Speakeasy features Hunter Canedy, John Dardenne, Sean Hannah, Lily Holleman, Matt Kempner, Gabi Marler, Shalimar Malimban, Matt Manser, Jordan Moeller, Vladimir Perez, Jackie Reilly, Giuseppe Restrepo, and Katie Stone. The cast for Whoops includes Joseph Dailey, Shawn Duenas, Jessy Greer, Sadie & Jack Katz, Colin Jamerson, Bethany Meagher, Andrew Mena, Amanda Romeo, Andrew Parker Scott, Lucy Slavin, Charis Tshihamba, and Gavin Velez.
