The Artist Tree in West Hollywood to host Studio 420: Celebrating Art & Pride
The Artist Tree in West Hollywood will kick off Pride Month with a big celebration next Thursday (June 4).
Studio 420: Celebrating Art & Pride is a 21+ event honoring LGBTQ+ history through film and art. Starting at 3:30 p.m., the event will have a screening of Studio One Forever followed by a Q&A session with film director Marc Saltarelli and film producer Gary Steinberg at 5 p.m. After a half-hour mixer, the portrait unveiling will take place at 6 p.m. Several artists will take part of the art exhibition, including Cassidy Barnes, Britt Westveer, and Jamie Roberts. An art auction hosted by Adam Tschorn will close out the event at 7:30 p.m.
Katie Brightside, The Artist Tree’s Curator-In-Chief said this about the art exhibition, which will run through September at The Artist Tree in West Hollywood:
“The Studio 420 exhibition weaves archival material, contemporary practice, and queer cultural history into a living conversation. Grounded in research and a deep relationship to the city of West Hollywood, the exhibition reflects on nightlife, activism, and the impact of the HIV/AIDS crisis, while bringing those histories into dialogue with present-day artistic voices across multiple disciplines. The show holds Pride as both celebration and remembrance—an insistence that history is not behind us, but something we continue to stand on.”
Tickets for Studio 420: Celebrating Art & Pride are on sale to the general public right now here. Proceeds from ticket sales, signature cocktails, and the live auction will go towards Project Angel Food, which is a nonprofit dedicated to providing medically tailored meals to individuals facing critical illness.
