My Chemical Romance, Smashing Pumpkins announced for Riot Fest 2021

This year’s installment of Riot Fest has been postponed, but this didn’t stop organizers from unveiling the first string of acts for next year’s event.

Revealed today, The Smashing Pumpkins, Run The Jewels, and The Pixies will headline the event, which takes place from September 16 through September 19, 2021 at Chicago’s Douglas Park. September 16 (Preview Night) will feature secret sets from bands that will be only be available that day. Other bands set to perform include Fever 333, The Sounds, Circle Jerks, and Sublime With Rome. My Chemical Romance, who were slated to headline this year, will still perform at the 2021 installment.

If you purchased tickets for the 2020 installment of Riot Fest, you can use them for next year or request a refund or transfer them to a friend here. Refunds/transfers are only available until July 16, 2020. Tickets for Riot Fest 2021 are available here. Entry into the Preview Night is only available for those keeping tickets for next year or folks buying tickets by July 16, 2020.

Annie Taylor @ The Echo

Swiss rockers Annie Taylor hit up The Echo to promote their forthcoming studio album Sweet Mortality. Last month, the group released the album’s first single “A Thousand Times.” The album is slated to be released on May 8 via Taxi Gauche.

Lords Of Acid, Aesthetic Perfection @ The Echoplex

Lords of Acid kick off their North American tour in support of Pretty In Kink inside The Echoplex. This tour marks the first time Lords of Acid and Praga Khan have toured together in two decades. Also performing that night are Aesthetic Perfection, who are promoting their latest studio album Into the Black.

Pussy Riot @ 1720

Pussy Riot’s North American tour arrives at 1720, and tickets for this gig are running low. The group will be supporting their latest single “Hangerz,” which includes Vic Mensa and Junglepussy. $1 from each ticket sold will go towards a local Planned Parenthood affiliate. The group have been working on the music video for their forthcoming single “Rage,” which was unfortunately raided by the Russian police.

Saturday, March 14

Third Eye Blind, Saves The Day @ The Wiltern

Third Eye Blind will head to The Wiltern in support of their new album Screamer. Released in October on the band’s own Mega Collider Records, the 12-track album peaked at number four on the Independent Albums chart. Joining the band are New Jersey rockers Saves The Day, who are plugging their latest studio album 9.

Sunday, March 15

The Acacia Strain, Rotting Out @ 1720

Metalcore group The Acacia Strain bring their headlining tour to 1720 for a night of intense pit action. The band are supporting their new studio album It Comes in Waves and new EP titled D. Joining them as suppot are Rotting Out, Xibalba, Chamber, and Fuming Mouth.

Saves The Day bring 'Through Being Cool' shows to Japan in May

Today, Saves The Day have announced plans to bring their Through Being Cool anniversary shows to Japan.

The trek kicks off on May 9 inside Osaka’s Livehouse Pangea before heading to Tokyo for shows inside Loft (May 10) and Live House Fever (May 11). Pre-sale tickets are available right now. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on March 7.

Before hitting Japan, the band will be supporting Third Eye Blind on tour across the United States from March 11 through March 30. Tickets for this trek are on sale right now.

In October, the band unveiled a reissue of the beloved record with a slew of additional demos and live sessions.
