Huntsmen to livestream record release show this Saturday

Chicago metal outfit Huntsmen unveiled their new studio album Mandala of Fear last week, but their touring plans were put on hold. On Saturday (March 21), they’ll be giving fans a treat with a special livestream.

The event, which was announced today, will take place at Treehouse Studios, and it’ll be streamed on Prosthetic Records’ YouTube channel. “We want to make it a special evening and a special event, so on Friday I reached out to Treehouse Studios to see if they’d work with us on this - it’s where we practice and recorded our first record, American Scrap. With the technology available to us, there are now ways to reach our fanbase without doing it face to face; it’s just a matter of getting crafty. To everybody who we won’t see on the road, and those who are new to Huntsmen, we hope you’ll join us on Saturday for this special show,” the band said in a statement. Before their performance, Bruce Lamont will take the stage.

The livestream, which is being sponsored by Metal Monkey Brewing, will begin at 9pm EST (6pm PST).

Huntsmen release new song "A Nameless Dread"

Yesterday, Chicago metal group Huntsmen unveiled another new song from their forthcoming studio album Mandala of Fear titled “A Nameless Death.”

Vocalist/guitarist Chris Kang says, “It tells of an elusive and shadowy cruelty that marauds the desert seeking only to single out, punish, and destroy the weak and wounded. It might be a man, or a memory of unimaginable pain, or both. Either way it was born of pain and was unable to escape its mire, so pain became its legacy - its gift to others. It is the memory of past terror projected outward into the future, wielding boundless power; eternally repleted by those enslaved to it.” The six-minute juggernaut of a song can be heard below.

Pre-orders for Mandala of Fear, which will be released on March 13 via Prosthetic Records, can be made here. Next month, the band will embark on a mini-trek with most dates including special guests Snow Burial. You can check out their forthcoming tour dates below.
