Adult Swim releases jazz compilation 'New Jazz Century' featuring Jessica Ackerley, Colin Stetson, and Yazz Ahmed

Adult Swim have dropped a new jazz compilation titled New Jazz Century.

Unveiled today, the 15-track compilation features a slew of fresh jazz musicians shaking things up, including Jessica Ackerley, Colin Stetson, and Yazz Ahmed. In a statement, Adult Swim producer Luke Rhodes said:

"Jazz is an influence that's always been in the background of the sorts of music we play on Adult Swim, particularly electronic and hip hop. But we've only recently started bringing that influence into the foreground. A compilation seemed like an opportunity to bring jazz more into the spotlight, as well as to introduce our audience to some modern currents in the jazz scene. We tried to narrow it down to a group that showed how much diversity is in the genre today, both in terms of who is playing jazz and what they're doing with the form."

Zao to release rarities compilation 'Preface: Early Recordings 1995-1996' in October

Metalcore outfit Zao will be looking at the past with their forthcoming rarities compilation.

The 14-track release includes material featuring founding vocalist Eric Reeder and Shawn Jonas, who appeared on the band’s first two albums: 1995’s All Else Failed and 1997’s The Splinter Shards the Birth of Separation. The compilation also includes a pair of songs from the Zao side project Monroe. The Treadwater 7” version of “Repressed” can be streamed below.

Pre-orders for the compilation, which will be released on October 9 can be made on Zao’s Bandcamp page. The 25th anniversary vinyl pressing of All Else Failed will also be released that day. Pre-orders for that can be found here.

Zao are putting the finishing touches on the follow up to 2016’s The Well-Intentioned Virus.

Garrison to release compilation album 'TV Or The Atom Bomb' on July 31

Defunct post-hardcore/punk group Garrison will bring some rare gems with their TV Or The Atom Bomb compilation.

The album will include a slew of B-sides, rarities, and singles recorded through the band’s career. Some of the tracks featured on the release include “The Only One,” from their 2003 EP The Model and “Twenty Four” from their first demo.

Pre-orders are available here. TV Or The Atom Bomb will be released on July 31st through Arctic Rodeo Recordings.

During their time, Garrison released two studio albums on Revelation Records: 2000’s A Mile In Cold Water and 2001’s Be A Criminal. The band’s last release was a 2003 split EP with Orange Island.

Russian Dark Community bring together some of the finest acts in the darkest side of electronic music with their frequent compilations. Fortunately, fans of industrial, EBM, and the like can get excited for their new one titled Fatal Infection, which was unveiled yesterday.

This 25 track compilation includes some exclusive jams from London Sadness, Binaural Silence, and Ultimate Soldier. There’s even a We Are Temporary cover from atomwave group 0Kontrol.
