SoCal pop punk band Super Sometimes have unveiled a new single from their forthcoming album Show the World What’s Underneath today.
The track “Make Up Stories” comes with a music video directed by Nick Riggs of Champion Heart Media, which can be seen below. The band said this about the song:
“’Make Up Stories” is a direct continuation of “Afterthought,” painting a picture of the same person who mistreated you crawling back, trying to beg and manipulate their way back into your life. Lyrically, this song was incredibly fun to write. We used the concepts of a court trial and a game of chess as analogies for a broken relationship.
This track showcased significant growth in musicianship between the three of us. It was more sophisticated than anything we had done before, and it truly opened our eyes—kicking the door down for us to go all in musically on this record.”
Show the World What’s Underneath will be released on May 15 via Pure Noise Records. Pre-orders for the record can be made here. This spring, Super Sometimes will support Arm’s Length on their North American headlining trek. Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets are on sale to the general public right now here.
