Sufjan Stevens and Angelo De Augustine announce collaborative album 'A Beginner’s Mind'

Sufjan Stevens and Angelo De Augustine are joining forces for a collaborative release.

Revealed today, A Beginner’s Mind is slated for a September 24 release on Asthmatic Kitty Records. The album’s creation was inspired by the pair watching a slew of movies during a month-long songwriting sabbatical. To celebrate the announcement, the singles “Reach Out” and “Olympus” have been released. A music video for “Reach Out,” which can be seen below, was recorded by the artists at their home with Jess Calleiro editing the final product.

Pre-orders for the album can be made here.

This is Stevens’ fourth collaborative album; last year, they unveiled Aporia, which was done with their stepfather (and Asthmatic Kitty Records co-founder) Lowell Brams. De Augustine’s last solo studio album was 2019’s Tomb.
