Socratic announce reunion show, performing 'Lunch for the Sky' in full

New Jersey indie rock band Socratic will reunite later this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album Lunch for the Sky.

Revealed yesterday, the band will perform at the Wonder Bar at Asbury Park on September 6, 2025. The performance will take place exactly 20 years from the album’s initial release date of September 6, 2005. Tickets for the 21+ show are on sale to the general public right now here. A special promo video for the show can be seen here.

Lunch for the Sky was produced by John Goodmanson, who is best known for producing albums for Los Campesinos!, Harvey Danger, and Sleater-Kinney. Socratic toured the country alongside Amber Pacific, The Rocket Summer, and The Forecast. Socratic would go on to record two more studio albums: 2008’s Spread the Rumors (produced by Mark Hoppus) and their 2012 self-titled album. Socratic’s last concert took place in 2013. Guitarist Duane Okun and bassist Lou Panico have continued making music with Levy and the Oaks.

Since 2009, MP3s and NPCs owner Terrance Pryor has written about music, conventions, cosplay, and video games for publications such as AXS, Examiner, Fake Walls, and Ranker. Based out of Los Angeles, the former rock concert promoter/radio host can be seen talking about rock music on AXS TV’s Music’s Greatest Mysteries and discussing music and whatever else on their Black Man Talks Rock channel on YouTube.
