Skater XL announced as video game sponsor for Street League Skateboarding (SLS) 2021 Championship Tour
Skater XL is joining forces with one of the biggest skateboard competitions in the world.
The game has been revealed as the official video game sponsor for Street League Skateboarding. To celebrate the occasion, a new map of Paul “PRod” Rodriguez’s Primitive Skatepark is available for free download.
Easy Day Studios marketing director Jeff Goforth said this about the collaboration:
“The SLS Championship Tour is an iconic brand in street skateboarding and one that we felt made a lot of sense for Skater XL. Coming out of the excitement and broad visibility of the Olympics, the tour is well-timed to build on that momentum as street skateboarding’s most long-standing competition that shows off the talents of some of the best pros in skateboarding today.”
Thrill One Sports and Entertainment’s (SLS’ parent company) CEO Joe Carr also chimed in:
“We are thrilled to partner with Skater XL as excitement builds for the 2021 SLS Championship Tour. Gaming has been a key element of skateboarding culture for decades. Now Skater XL is leading a resurgence in the space with innovation and authenticity, qualities that will also be front and center when the world’s best face off for street skateboarding’s ultimate prize.”
The first leg of the SLS 2021 Championship Tour took place this weekend at the Utah State Fairgrounds in Salt Lake City. The next two stops will arrive on October 29 and October 30 at Miami’s SkateBird Miami and November 13 & November 14 at Jacksonville Landing for the SLS Super Crown World Championship in Jacksonville, Florida.
