Sheppard release new single "Somebody Like You"
Australian indie pop group Sheppard are releasing in the early stages of their monthly singles project, and yesterday, they’ve unveiled their new single “Somebody Like You.”
The track is based on an old relationship vocalist George Sheppard had back in the day. “It was written last year in Brisbane, about a time in my early 20’s when I lost the girl I thought was the love of my life. I’ve never been that heartbroken. She was the best thing that had ever happened to me at the time, and over the course of the next year I realised I wasn’t actually moving on and trying to look for someone new, I was looking for someone who was exactly like her,” they said.
This is the second single from their yearlong project following last month’s “Don’t Believe In Love.” This project will conclude with Sheppard’s forthcoming studio album. This will be the follow up to their 2018 album Watching the Sky, which peaked at number one in their home country.
