Rooster Teeth purchased by founder Burnie Burns

Almost a year after being shut down, Rooster Teeth is back thanks to someone close to the company.
Today, it was revealed that Rooster Teeth founder Burnie Burns has purchased the Rooster Teeth brand and much of its remaining assets under their own Box Canyon Productions company. Through this purchase, Burns will bring back some beloved Rooster Teeth shows as well as “a new original audio adventure Again and an untitled reimagining of Burns’ first film The Schedule.” A special video celebrating the announcement can be seen here.
Burns said this about the acquisition:
“I am excited at the challenge of bringing Rooster Teeth back to its roots. The heart of this brand has always been its fans, and I look forward to writing a new chapter together.”
In May 2024, Rooster Teeth was shut down after 21 years of creating shows such as Red vs Blue, RWBY, and Gen:Lock.
