Prog metal band Nospūn announce re-recording of 'Ozai' EP

Prog metal band Nospūn will revisit the past with a brand-new EP.
The band will unveil a re-recording of their Ozai EP, which will be released on March 28. The release was recorded, mixed, and mastered by bassist Cole Millward at Giant Spoon Productions. A lyric video for “The Effervescent Power” can be seen here. The band said this about their forthcoming re-recording:
"The Ozai EP was the first music we created and recorded as the four-member group you now know as Nospūn. It was a time of exploration—pushing our limits in writing, technicality, and style. We chose to break away from a more traditional, old-school prog sound in favor of something more modern.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Ozai, and to celebrate, we are re-releasing it—fully re-recorded, remixed, and remastered. Rather than simply remaster the original, we wanted to completely recreate it with everything we've learned over the past decade. Our goal was to ensure Ozai sounds sonically consistent with Opus, so you can transition between the two seamlessly without feeling like you're jumping from a modern production to a garage recording.
This EP leans toward a heavier, more aggressive sound—more straightforward and intense. It's not a concept album; each song stands on its own.
However, this is not the future direction of Nospūn, nor is it our second album. That is still in the works—and it's on its way."
Pre-orders for Ozai can be made here.
