Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet announced during Pokémon Day 2022
Two new mainline Pokémon games will be arriving later this year.
Announced during today’s Pokémon Day celebration, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are open-world titles much like Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which was released back in January. When it comes to the starting Pokemon, players can choose between Sprigatito (Grass Cat Pokémon), Fuecoco (Fire Croc Pokémon), or Quaxly (Duckling Pokémon).
Tsunekazu Ishihara, president and CEO of The Pokémon Company said this about the new Pokémon games:
“Trainers will once again embark on an epic journey of discovery and exploration. Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will be an adventure unlike any other, and I cannot wait to share this incredible experience with all of you.”
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet follow 2019’s Pokémon Sword and Shield, which sold a combined 24 million copies worldwide.
