Pokémon says goodbye to Ash Ketchum with new protagonists for upcoming series

After 25 seasons, Ash Ketchum will bid farewell to the Pokémon anime series.

Announced today, the character won’t be part of the upcoming new Pokémon animated series. Instead, the new show will follow protagonists Liko and Roy in their journey throughout the magical world of Pokémon. The new show, which will arrive early next year, will feature Pokémon Scarlet/Violet Pokémon Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. More information about the new show will be announced soon.

Fans won’t say goodbye to Ketchum just yet. Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series, which is currently streaming on Netflix in the United States, will showcase what’s in store for the new Pokémon World Champion Ash and Pikachu in the future with special episodes featuring fan-favorite characters and Pokémon.
