Poets of the Fall to perform as Alan Wake's Old Gods of Asgard at The Game Awards 2023
Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall will bring a beloved video game band to life at The Game Awards.
Announced yesterday, Poets of the Fall will deliver a debut live performance as Alan Wake’s Old Gods of Asgard at the awards ceremony, which takes place the Peacock Theater (f.k.a. Microsoft Theater) this Thursday starting at 7 p.m. EST/4 p.m. PST. Poets of the Fall performed music as the in-game band Old Gods of Asgard in Alan Wake, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, and Alan Wake 2. They also revived the Old Gods of Asgard moniker for 2019’s Control, which was nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2019.
This Friday (November 8), Poets of the Fall will release a compilation of their Old Gods of Asgard material titled Rebirth - Greatest Hits. Pre-orders for the album as well as exclusive Old Gods of Asgard merch can be made here.
Sam Lake, Creative Director, Remedy said this about the compilation:
“This album is a culmination of a long and wonderous journey of artistic collaboration between friends. A fever dream come true. The songs play a key role in the games Alan Wake, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, Control and Alan Wake 2, deepening the lore or setting up a memorable scene. We hope you will love the music as much as we have loved creating both the band and the songs.”
Alan Wake 2 is nominated for eight awards at The Game Awards, including Game of the Year, Best Action / Adventure Game, and Best Game Direction. More information about the ceremony can be made here.
