English alternative rock group Placebo have dropped their first song in five years.
Released yesterday, “Beautiful James” is out on digital services right now via Rise Records. Vocalist Brian Molko said this about the new tune:
“If the song serves to irritate the squares and the uptight, so gleefully be it. But it remains imperative for me that each listener discovers their own personal story within it - I really don’t want to tell you how to feel.”
Placebo will release their eighth studio album in the future. Their last studio album was 2013’s Loud Like Love, which features the singles "Too Many Friends," "A Million Little Pieces," and the title track.
