Phoneboy release new single “Red Wine”

New Jersey indie rock band Phoneboy have unveiled another single from their forthcoming album Heartbreak Designer.

Released yesterday, the song “Red Wine” arrives with a music video directed by Lianne Rose Richards. The visual can be seen here. The band said this about the new single:

“Red Wine” is all about answering the question “what if Phoneboy went pop?” When we wrote it, we wanted a pop banger: fun and carefree on the surface but really about trying too hard to be someone you’re not. We’ve always loved pop music, from Whitney Houston to Hot Chelle Rae to Chappell Roan, and watching bands like The 1975 fuse alt-rock with pop inspired us to take our own swing at it. It’s like an existential crisis wrapped up in an anthem.”

Heartbreak Designer is slated for an April 25 release via AWAL. Pre-saves for the record can be made here.

Phoneboy will tour in support of the record in May and June alongside opening act Inoha. Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets are on sale to the general public right now here.
