Outriders is free-to-play on Steam this week

Square Enix’s shooter/action RPG Outriders will be free-to-play on Steam for a limited time.
Starting today, new players can join the game in its full state with crossplay with other platforms. The game’s free-to-play state on Steam will conclude this Thursday (June 23rd) at 1 p.m. EST/10:00 a.m. PST. The game will be available for 45% off during this time period. All in-game progress will carry over if the player decides to purchase the title.
Outriders’ limited time free-to-play state comes days before the Worldslayer expansion, which arrives on June 30 via PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Google Stadia and Nvidia GeForce Now. The expansion features new mods, new weapons, and new difficulty levels.
Released in 2021, Outriders peaked at around 100,000 concurrent players on Steam during its initial launch.
Since 2009, MP3s and NPCs owner Terrance Pryor has written about music, conventions, cosplay, and video games for publications such as AXS, Examiner, Fake Walls, and Ranker. Based out of Los Angeles, the former rock concert promoter/radio host can be seen talking about rock music on AXS TV’s Music’s Greatest Mysteries and discussing music and whatever else on their Black Man Talks Rock channel on YouTube.
