NYC indie rock band Volena have delivered their new single “Song About Winter” today.

The track stems from the band’s forthcoming self-titled EP, which will be released this Friday. An official music video for the song can be seen here. Vocalist Maddie Grandusky-Howe said this about the new single:

"Song About Winter" takes its name from the man in the first verse, but also from the season the song was written in: my first winter in a new home with two queer friends, learning how to live with myself after the end of my engagement. I was self-isolating during this time and trying to relearn healthy coping mechanisms for my emotions. The song is a simple meditation on letting go of old ideas to make way for new growth.”

Pre-orders for the EP can be made here. This Sunday, the band will have a record release show at Baby's All Right with support from My Wonderful Boyfriend and Zoe Firn. Tickets for the 21+ show can be purchased here.
