Nominations for The Game Awards 2021 to be announced on Tuesday (November 16)

Video game fans now know when The Game Awards nominations will be released.

Revealed today, the nominations will be revealed on Tuesday (November 16) at 12 p.m. EST/9 a.m. PST. The announcement will be made by Geoff Keighley at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater, which is where The Game Awards will be held. The livestream will be held on The Game Awards’ official Twitch and YouTube channels. Fan voting will go live when nominations in 30 categories drop.

The Game Awards will return to an in-person fashion this year as an invite-only event. Fans around the world will be able to watch the award ceremony live on multiple streaming services. last year’s ceremony drew 83 million viewers, which was an 84% increase from the previous year. 18.3 million fans voted for their favorites to win on the official Game Awards website.

Keighley said this about last year’s event:

“In this most challenging of years, the video game industry has continued to deliver for its fans. We are deeply humbled to see that excitement translate into these record-setting results, with significant upticks in total viewership, watch time and social engagement around the world.”
