Narrow Head's Jacob Duarte announced a brand-new solo project titled Nihilistic Easyrider on Monday.
The debut album from Nihilistic Easyrider titled Deluxe Edition will be released on July 25 via Run For Cover. The 12-track album will find Duarte diving into the worlds of emo and pop rock. The first single from the release titled “Getaway Plan” comes with a music video directed by Nate Kahn, which can be seen here.
Duarte said this about the new album:
“Narrow Head and this project are equally big parts of me, and I need to do them both, but I always know if a riff is going to become a Narrow Head song or a Nihilistic Easyrider song the moment I first write it. In a funny way, these Nihilistic Easyrider songs are closer to the music I always wanted to make growing up — they’ve got that real ’90s and 2000’s emo feel that I grew up loving and wanting to channel. When I write for Narrow Head I’m writing for what the band needs, whereas these songs are more like, a personal diary of growing up through music.”
Duarte will bring the Nihilistic Easyrider project on tour this fall with support from On Being an Angel. The trek will kick off on September 12 at Houston’s Secret Group, and it’ll conclude on September 27 at Atlanta’s Aisle 5. Tour dates can be seen below.
