Next year, TTRPG fans will be able to dive into the universe of Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.

Revealed yesterday, Magpie Games has inked a multi-year deal with ViacomCBS Consumer Products to release a new game set based on the series. In a statement, Magpie Games CEO Mark Diaz Truman said:

“The stories of Avatar are so moving for us because they are joyous and heartbreaking. We’re incredibly excited to bring the tales of brave benders and loyal friendships to tabletop roleplaying games; we know so many fans of both series have been waiting years for this moment! We’re also thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Asian designers like James Mendez Hodes to bring the world of Avatar Aang and Avatar Korra to life in a way that’s true to the authentic, diverse spirit of both shows.”

The core book is slated for a February 2022 release with two supplements arriving afterwards; Republic City will be released in August 2022, and The Spirit World will be released on February 2023.

Magpie Games recently worked on a TTRPG based on the board game Root: A Game of Woodland Might & Right.

Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra are both available to stream on Netflix. The popular streaming service is working on a live-action series based on Avatar: The Last Airbender.
