Neva Dinova announce first album in 16 years with 'Canary'
Omaha indie rock band Neva Dinova will unveil their first album in 16 years next month.
Revealed today, Canary is slated for a September 27 release via Saddle Creek. This is the band’s proper follow-up to their 2008 studio album You May Already Be Dreaming. The idea for a new album stemmed from touring alongside Cursive on their Domestica 20th anniversary tour last year. The new lineup of Neva Dinova, which was founded in 1993 by Jake Bellows, features Megan Siebe (Cursive, Simon Joyner & the Ghosts) and longtime Neva Dinova drummer Roger L. Lewis.
The first single (and opening track) from the record titled "Edge of Something" features an accompanying music video, which can be seen here. Bellows said this about the song:
“[It’s about] a person that feels unappreciated and sad and angry, possibly having a psychotic break… commits to making some kind of unknown change. Thinking life could be better. The irony here is that it gets much worse. A very brave fool.”
