Taylor Acorn announces new 'Certified Depressant' EP, unveils "Coma (feat. Cassadee Pope)"
Nashville singer-songwriter Taylor Acorn will unveil their new EP this fall.
Certified Depressant is slated for a September 22 release via ONErpm. To celebrate the announcement, Acorn unveiled a new version of “Coma” with guest vocals from Grammy-nominated artist Cassadee Pope. Acorn said this about their new collaboration with Pope, which can be heard below:
“‘Coma’ is about the awakening out of a toxic relationship, feeling free but also almost unrecognizable from the person you were when you were in it (kind of like you were in a coma). ‘Coma’ was written with Cassadee Pope as a co-writer and I've also been a huge fan of hers since Hey Monday. I thought it would add a really awesome element if she was to put her own spin on it as well, so that's what we did!”
Pope also said:
“Writing ‘Coma’ with Taylor and Dan Swank was one of the most easy going, natural sessions I’ve ever done. The dynamic was really special and I loved getting to write for someone else’s project, especially Taylor who I’m such a fan of. When she asked me if I would sing on a new version of the song, I immediately said yes because it really is one of my favorite songs out right now. I’ve experienced what the lyric talks about and feel very connected to it.”
Acorn will promote the EP on their previously announced East Coast trek. Tour dates can be seen below. Tickets are on sale to the general public right now here. “Coma (feat. Cassadee Pope)” is out on digital services right now.
