Ambient/doom metal duo Nadja will release their new studio album Luminous Rot this spring.
Revealed today, the six-track release will be released on CD and digital formats on May 21 via Southern Lord Records with a vinyl release arriving on August 13. The title track from the forthcoming album can be heard below.
Luminous Rot is Nadja’s first studio album not mixed by the band. For this release, they enlisted David Pajo, who is best known for their work with Slint and Will Oldham. In a statement, the band said:
“As big fans of Slint, we thought he might fore-front the more angular, post-punk elements of our music - the mix is quite different from our previous albums. But, as usual, we had James Plotkin (Khanate, OLD, etc) master the album as we trust his ears and aesthetic, as he's mastered numerous records of ours.”
Digital pre-orders for Luminous Rot are available on Nadja’s Bandcamp page. This is the follow-up to their 2018 studio album Sonnborner.
