Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX screening announced for Anime Expo

Mobile Suit Gundam fans will be able to catch a special Los Angeles screening of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- at Anime Expo.

Announced today, the screening will be part of a special Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX event going down at Peacock Theater on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 11:30 AM. Following the screening, attendees will be greeted to a discussion featuring Kazuya Tsurumaki (Director), Yoji Enokido (Series Supervision and Screenplay), Tomoyo Kurosawa, voice actor of Amate Yuzuriha (MACHU) and Naohiro Ogata (Gundam Executive Producer). The event will end with a musical performance.

Released in theaters earlier this year, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- is a film featuring re-edited episodes of the Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX series. The series is streaming on Amazon Prime Video right now here.

A synopsis for the show reads:

The series follows Amate Yuzuriha, a high school girl living peacefully in a space colony, who is drawn into the illegal mobile suit dueling competition known as “Clan Battle” after encountering a mysterious girl named Nyan. Taking the entry name “Machu,” Amate dives headfirst into the intense world of mobile suit dueling.

Around the same time, a mysterious Gundam mobile suit and its pilot, a boy named Shuji, who are being hunted by both the space military and the police, appear before her.

The world is now on the brink of a new era.

The only way to attend the Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX screening is with an Anime Expo badge. Four-day and single-day badge registration for the event can be made here. Anime Expo will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 3 through July 6. Our coverage of last year’s Anime Expo, which gained a turnstile attendance of 407,000 people from 64 countries, can be seen here.
