Mega Ran to perform at 2025 New York Game Awards
The 2025 New York Game Awards has revealed an exciting musical performance.
Yesterday, Raheem Jarbo bka Mega Ran will perform at the awards ceremony, which takes place on Tuesday, January 21 at the SVA Theatre in Manhattan. Debuting in 2006, the nerdcore hip-hop artist has appeared on the soundtracks for Mortal Kombat 11, Mighty No. 9, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. This year, Mega Ran released three albums: The Lure Of Light, Black Materia: Rebirth, and 3MB. Next year, Mega Ran will embark on a North American tour supporting Magic Sword. Tour dates and tickets can be seen here.
Harold Goldberg, Co-founder and President, NYVGCC said this about Mega Ran’s forthcoming performance:
“Raheem’s background as an educator and deep love for video games resonated with our organization and made the decision to bring him in as a performer a no-brainer. I like to describe his Mega Ran persona as a nerdcore transmitter of video game lore, and we can’t wait to see how he captures our audience with his set paying tribute to this medium we all love.”
Mega Ran also said:
“2024 was such a monumental year for me as an artist and father, and I can’t think of a better way to kick off 2025 than at the New York Game Awards. I can’t wait to play a special new song and some classics at the show.”
Tickets for the 2025 New York Game Awards are on sale to the general public right now here. The event will be streamed on IGN’s channels for folks unable to attend. Nominations will be announced on Tuesday, January 7 via Paley Center for Media’s YouTube channel.
