Mass Effect show is in development at Amazon

Mass Effect fans have been granted some great news about the franchise on Mass Effect Day (November 7).

Revealed via Variety, a Mass Effect show is currently in development over at Amazon MGM Studios. Daniel Casey (F9, Chosen) is set to be the writer and executive producer of the show. Karim Zreik, Ari Arad and Electronic Arts’ Michael Gamble will also be executive producers.

Negotiations for Amazon to develop a Mass Effect show for Prime Video started in 2021. This year, Prime Video delivered live-action video game adaptations of Fallout and Like a Dragon: Yakuza. Fallout became a major hit with 16 Emmy nominations and praise from longtime fans and casual viewers alike. A second season of Fallout is currently in development.

Debuting in 2007, Mass Effect has become one of most beloved science fiction video game franchises ever. A new Mass Effect game has been in development since 2020. If you want to dive into the Mass Effect world, the entire series is on sale right now via Steam until November 11.
